Two-vehicle Greene County crash: Man killed ID’d

GREENE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – One person dead has been identified and another is hospitalized after a crash in Greene County Tuesday.

Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) confirmed the fatal two-vehicle crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Colonel Glenn Highway and Mission Point Boulevard.

According to initial reports, a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by William R. Doyle III, 35, of Dayton was traveling northeast on Colonel Glenn Highway. Police said Doyle drove off the right side of the road, hit the guardrail, and then overcorrected, crossing the centerline. Doyle drove into the path of a southwest-traveling 2022 Honda CR-V driven by a 27-year-old woman.

Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene, reports said, and the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Soin Medical Center by AFB EMS.

Colonel Glenn Highway was closed for about three hours but it has since reopened.
